Review of The Rock (1996) by Sheranga- T — 26 Feb 2010
I would say this is Michael Bay's breakout movie. Sure, he already had Bad Boys under his belt, but this showed he was here to stay. The movie also established Bay's reputation of going big in movies, lots of action, lots of explosions, simply put he goes big or doesn't do it at all.
His style can interfere with the acting in the movie. But that is ok because he gets some great actors to make up for it. Ed Harris is the star of this movie and does a amazing job. The writing is good not great, but good.
And the movie is just fun to watch.
