I will always love this film for tricking America--nay, The World into believing that Nicolas Cage was their action hero. Without The Rock there would be no Face/Off. There would be no Con Air. No Ghost Rider.
Honestly, The Rock is just a straight up brilliant EPIC action film. It's long, but Michael Bay knows how to pack it in. Badass car chase through San Fran--Watch out! Little Old Ladies! Wheelchairs! Exploding Trollies! And I love Nic Cage's nerdy "I'm Stanly Goodspeed!" chemical superfreak--that doesn't even get to kill a guy until an hour and a half in.
Plus Sean Connery doin' his "grunge thing." Loads of fun. Not VF.
