Review of The Rock (1996) by Antoine O — 04 May 2010
It's a Michael Bay movie don't expect to be blown away by it. The story is very very thin and clichéd, you've seen the characters before, you know in advance what's gonna happen etc. The chemistry between Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery works, it's fun to see an ederly, old man have a foul mouth. Ed Harris is kinda interesting as the villain, but they don't use him that much. The action scenes on the island are pretty cool.
Overall it's a decent action movie, probably Michael Bay's best work, but that doesn't mean a lot, if you haven't seen it and you're desperate to see it, rent it that should do it.
