Review of The Rock (1996) by Jeremy H — 01 Jan 2012
The most watchable of Bay's movies, which isn't really something to be proud of. The action is pure Shakicam confusion, the story is just a set piece excuse (and a bad one at that), and the obnoxiously orange-and-blue retouches just make it rather unpleasant to watch.
The only high point is the interplay between Cage and Connery, and perhaps Ed Harris' turn as the villain.
