Review of The Rock (1996) by Mattias K — 07 Aug 2012

I remember myself as a teenage kid watching this and thought it was the coolest movie ever. I found the premise of the Alcatraz escapee being forced back in to the rock be awesome especially played by Sean Connery. I re-watched it recently and found that it hasn't aged well, what was once incredibly fast pacing seems slow now considering that the Michael Bay editing technique has gone out of control thanks to movies that started it such as this one.

Although it still has some good adrenalin kicks in it and Sean Connery's character is still bad ass it seems a little cliched now.

Still an entertaining film though.
