The Rock has more brains than the critics who viewed this film, MIchael Bay hits the jackpot with this one. Connery and Cage are at their best here. I really liked Ed Harris' character, you know one thing, Michael bay's 3 consecutive films have a similar plot, here Cage's pregnant girlfriend waits for him to come back alive, similarly in Armageddon(1998), Liv Tyler waits for Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis, in Pearl Harbor(2001), a pregnant Kate Beckinsale waits for Hartnett and Affleck.
The trick worked for the first 2 films and flopped in the third.
