Review of The Rock (1996) by Noah A — 05 Jun 2015
In my book this counts as Bay´s best movie, which doesn´t say much... This hugely thanks to the living legend Bond veteran Sean Connery bringing both levity and gravitas, asmuch as Cage is kind of a hokey vinyl hipster geek, and Harris more hevy handed disgruntled grunt of a villain.
The action is bombastic (not unusual for Bay-fare), drowning logic and substance with OTT explosions and stunts. Forget you actually have a brain for a good bit over 2 hrs and enjoy the rollercoaster ride.
