Review of The Rock (1996) by Steve G — 03 May 2016
Solid 90's blockbuster action flick.
Glorious look on film with some of Michael Bay's trademark shots. Story has a clever plot utilising real science (with a movie spin of course) and keeps you entertained and engaged throughout.
Sean Connery's Mason is a classic anti-hero whom you can tell has channelled his experience playing Bond to portray a man whom we catch up to later in life and this plays out an interesting character.
Nicolas Cage is in his prime doing what he does best, managing clever dialogue and crazy outbrakes.
Ed Harris excellently manages a broken yet strong man embattling a government dedicated to screwing over the armed forces.
