Review of The Roaring Twenties (1939) by Mec R — 02 Mar 2008
The last great gangster picture to come out of Warner Bros. studios in the thirties. Cagney is even better here than he was in 'The Public Enemy'. Watching this film it's easy to see how Scorsese used it as a touchstone for 'Goodfellas'.
Definately an underrated film that I enjoyed just as much as more recent gangster masterpieces.
