It's been half a decade since the colossal events that took place on September 11th, 2001 that have since changed the course of history. In this past year, Hollywood has released a hand-full of memorial movies (United 93, World Trade Center, etc.

..). This movie in particular, Road to Guantanamo, is not your typical Hollywood flick and will probably be found under the "foreign" genre. It's a disturbing, yet quite accurate, depiction of the chronicles of three British citizens (all with Pakistani ethnic roots) as they began by first traveling to Pakistan for a wedding, then crossed the border in to Afghanistan just before the American military began the bombing campaign.

Without re-iterating a synopsis for the movie (as I'm sure you can discover one elsewhere online), I'd like to express that I was very moved by this documentary-style movie. I gave it a B+ based on it's cinematography credentials and not because of it's touching story and how it depicts certain events.

I believe it is a must see for everyone, especially those who are curious to know how the infamous Camp Delta at Guantanomo Bay, Cuba treats its residents. Furthermore, it is an eye-opening account of how things function on the other side of the fence, and how the American government (one that takes pride in justice and fair trials) has been maltreating hundreds of detainees (only has ever been convicted guilty thus far).

If cross-referenced with other claims, this movie still refrains from showing what may perhaps be the true picture. In any case, it does due justice to the three captives that were released as they're story will now be heard by the world.

I'd also like to add that though hundreds remain captive in Guantanamo, these three were probably only released because of their British citizenship - I guess those stuck with 3rd world nationalities are considered animals by the Camp Delta administration.

Bottom line, it's not a very fluid movie, but it will keep your attention fixated as it constantly presents the audience with documentary-like footage that is so convincing that you may forget you're watching a re-inaction - definitely rent it out!
