Review of The Road to Guantanamo (2006) by Tibor B — 02 Oct 2008
This, along with Taxi to the Dark Side, give atruly shocking, sickening enraging picture of the appalling human rights abuses the US and British Government allowed in their knee jerk response to 9/11. The fil skilfully combines both fictional drama with interview soundbites from the real British Muslims captured in Afghanistan and held at Guantanamo, all ironically contrasted with misinformed media coverage.
Taxi to the Dark Side is superior beacuse of its level headed objectiveness and coverage of all perspectives, including Americans. This one sided perspective told here may provoke some questions about credulity of the prisoners stories, but the sheer ignorance displayed in the interrogations and general treatment of the captives is still outrageous and shameful.
