Review of The Road to El Dorado (2000) by Tyler M — 11 Jul 2010
When I was just a kid, I watched this movie plenty of times and remember laughing my bum off (the word 'butt', in my opinion, is derogatory).
Now, I finally watch it again and it was like nostalgia, but then it made me seriously think about how good it truly is.
Tulio & Miguel are ridiculously funny and the action is pretty good. The only problems (1.) Tulio's love interest, Chel, is slightly too sexy for a film like this. Though, DreamWorks does have a history of making much too sexy animated characters, like Lola in Shark Tale.
The other problem I have is the scenes with the high priest, Tzekel-Khan are much to spooky and spiritualistic for this kind of film, but, again, DreamWorks tries to make more edgier animated films.
All and all, a good film that some people may like, and that others may not.
FINAL VERDICT: 60%.
