Review of The Road to El Dorado (2000) by Sahara K — 04 Jul 2012
I rediscovered this movie a few years ago through the internet, and while I didn't remember much of it as a kid I very much enjoyed it, and still do today with my younger sister. The music, art, and catchy dialogue make this movie extremely enjoyable for us as people who adore animated films as a whole.
While I do agree with the critics that the plot and the characters aren't fleshed out enough, it's nevertheless very well made and the actors' voice acting is suburb, especially Tulio and Miguel's! Quoting this movie is so, so fun; this movie doesn't deserve as low of a rating as it does, in my opinion.
While it's not the best movie ever, I don't think it's "bad" enough to have a rotten rating on the tomatometer. I think it's around the sixties mark, personally. I give this movie four stars, one star missing due to the plot and characters, and the few plot holes.
This movie's a classic and anyone who has seen it (at least those I know) say so as well :).
