Review of The Rite (1969) by Tim A — 13 Nov 2011
Not particularly original or moving but the film gets a 4 star rating purely on the brilliance of Anthony Hopkins. Without him, the movie would have been standard fare. Worth a watch certainly, and thank goodness the alternative ending (as featured on Blu-Ray) was dropped.
Thoroughly enjoyable yarn. Watch it by candlelight, and lights off.
