One of the top ten films of the 1980's. Intelligently patriotic without being jingoistic, The Right Stuff paints a nostalgic landscape of an optimistic post war America's first flights into outer space.
This is one of the few films that I can watch repeatedly and still feel as giddy as a I did when I first saw it in the theatre as a kid. A perfect film.
