Epic adaptation of Tom Wolfe's classic novel, thanks a superb ensemble cast, brilliant direction by Kaufman and visual effects that hold up well even today. Just as with the book, it delves into the lives of the test pilots & Mercury 7 astronauts, displaying their many strengths & weaknesses and humanizing them.
However, it doing so, it only makes what they did that much more heroic. The best film about the space program ever.
