Review of The Ridiculous 6 (2015) by James R — 12 Dec 2015
This movie wasn't as bad as some people are saying it is, but it definitely isn't a good movie. I actually enjoyed it. Sandler isn't at his best here, but it's probably the first Sandler film I've actually laughed out loud at in a few years.
The movie is about a group of men that find out they are all half brothers. The main character is White Knife (Adam Sandler) who was raised by Native Americans after his mother was killed. One day his estranged father Frank Stockburn (Nick Nolte) visits him to tell him that he's buried over $50,000 and wants to give it to him since he was never there for him.
Before he knows it though Frank's old bank robbing gang comes led by their new leader Cicero (Danny Trejo). They come and kidnap Frank demanding $50,000 in order to get his father back. White Knife feels obligated to get the money and decides to rob only the evil people in the West to get the money (for a non guilty conscience?).
Along the way he meets his half brothers that his father doesn't even know exists. There's Ramon (Rob Schneider) who's half Mexican and has a gassy donkey, Lil' Pete (Taylor Lautner) who's.
....er special, Herm (Jorge Garcia) who's a wilderness man that doesn't speak a lick of english, Chico (Terry Crews) a piano player and Danny (Luke Wilson) the most normal of the crew that has a dark secret.
They become the Ridiculous Six and start robbing the bad people to get the money they need. That's the jist of it. The movie isn't as funny as it could have been, but I found there were a few funny parts in the film and I would say if you're an Adam Sandler fan (and have Netflix) then take a look at this one.
It's not exactly must see, but it was better than I thought it would be.
