Review of The Rider (2018) by John M — 07 Dec 2018
This truly is about as natural as you can get in portraying these characters. Everyone here just feels so lived in. The locals in the background in shots even feel like those people you would see in these settings.
That's really what drives this film overall, is its complete restraint in dramatic events and instead letting its characters just exist. It eventually pays off over the course of its slow but beautiful character study.
