Review of The Revenant (2015) by Ryan B — 21 Nov 2016

This has to be one of the only movies I've ever given a 5 star. Leonardo's performance was amazing along with great acting by Tom Hardy. The bear attack was the most realistic shot of film I've ever seen, made me even flinch a couple times.

The camera work/directing was absolutely fantastic with extremely long takes with the same camera, there were even a couple scenes that got blood on the lense and he just kept shooting until he felt like it lol.

The entire bear attack was one full shot which made it very realistic and made you feel like it was really happening along with the beginning battle scene with was done with very minimal cuts and camera angle changes, the same camera would just walk though the battle going from one character to another with no cuts, it was just strait up awesome.

If you can't take a lot of blood and gore then I would see this one but other then that I would recommend it to almost everyone. I even got my pastor of my church and his wife to watch it and they loved it.

Good job Leo for getting the award, very well deserved.
