Thirty minutes and two shock and awe moments into the Revenant I am out of it. Maybe because having the “leads” in “do or die” situations is meaningless or the abundance of cuts to icy rapids and tall timbers is surprising from the man who shot “Birdman”.
Ironically, it left me cold. Granted, production values are good - performances good - and for a re-enactment trimming sixty minutes might have been better.
