Review of The Revenant (2015) by Scraper — 30 Jan 2016
It's just not very clever. It's a linear story that comes to believable conclusions. DiCaprio is good in the movie. He plays a battered and soul-dead survivor who rarely speaks. It's a lot of grunts and scowls.
Doesn't really have the dimension. It's not his fault. He does his best with the material, but outside of the shocking violence, what is really moving you about this film? Not much.
