Review of The Revenant (2015) by Alan G — 06 Oct 2017
My God, isn't this film something. It's overstuffed with everything that makes a film great. Phenomenal acting from Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, and Domnhall Gleeson fill out exceptionally written characters in an endlessly compelling fact-based story that does it's true events justice, that all exist in a beautiful space masterfully photographed by cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki under the steady hand of Alejandro G.
Iñarritu. While the whole thing about Hugh Glass' fictional Pawnee son, was unnecessary, as I'm pretty sure Glass had ample motivation anyway, it gets a free pass because of how incredibly good the rest of the movie is.
