Review of The Return of the Living Dead (1985) by Jamey H — 18 Oct 2013
Fun 80s cult horror item is basically a zombie spoof, but with some legitimate zombie tropes to go with it. The first half is more enjoyable, but unfortunately the film proves a bit too "one-joke" and one-note as it goes along, missing opportunities to be edgier and add more variation to its central plot.
Still a clever and affectionate spoof, and if you're a fan of Romero's Night of the Living Dead, you can't NOT get at least a few kicks out of it.
