Review of The Return (2006) by Michael S — 12 Aug 2009
I was rather disappointed in this film. With a title like "The Return", and a poster of an eye with a hand in it, you'd expect it to have more supernatural, spooky punch to it. Alas, this movie only had a poke to the eye.
I really didn't care one iota about the characters- probably because they really weren't developed much through the film. They were kinda flat- and the acting fit in that regard.
I know suspense is supposed to be a bit slower than your average horror slasher fare... but this was a dozey sort of film. The actors didn't even seem to have enough energy to actually say their lines.
Regardless of these flaws, there was some pretty good camera angles, and the differance in colouring between "present day", and the flashbacks was pretty good.
Beyond that... I don't recommend this movie.
