Review of The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (2017) by Siler R — 25 Jan 2017
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is by no means a perfect movie. It's cliche, has a very predictable third-act, and feels at times like it belongs more on Lifetime than it does on the big screen. However, it's very funny, well acted, and It's better than anything Pure Flix or Kirk Cameron has been giving us lately.
The Film is more concerned with telling a story about Christians being Christians and showing the life of Jesus through a play, instead of preaching a heavily political Prosperity Gospel, or just being a Christian WIsh Fulfillment Fantasy.
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is not perfect, but it is an improvement (and it's not Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas or the Nicholas Cage Left Behind Remake).
