Review of The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (2017) by Jenner L — 04 Feb 2017
So refreshing to see a movie like this. Displays the lucrative, flashy things the world offers us that eventually lead to dead ends compared to the eternal joy that Jesus offers us. Good message about second, and even third, chances.
Themes of redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation, and mercy. The film tied together nicely with the play at the end. Moments of excellent acting, especially by Dalton. Definitely some surprises. Also shows how the grace of God is transformative.
I wish there were more movies like this being made. I love that there was no sex, nudity, profanity, or violence in the film.
