Review of The Rescuers Down Under (1990) by Kyle G — 28 Mar 2010
Animated beautifully (in a slight, formulaic kind of way), this movie does its best work guiding us through Australian flora and fauna. Aside from those visuals, there's hardly anything groundbreaking.
The story, in spite of some charming spots (John Candy making a dull role an unlikely source of wit), is stuffed with clueless Disney tropes and cringeworthy duds.
