Review of The Rescuers (1977) by Blais E — 09 Mar 2011
Good Disney animated effort, with, as usual, superior voice actors & fun characters. Two little mice, Bernard and Miss Bianca (Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor respectively-) with the help of some back-country animal folk come to a little girl's aid after she is kidnapped by the manic jewel-thief Madame Medusa.
Geraldine Page is incredible as the slatternly Medusa, as is Joe Flynn as her rotund & ineffective henchman, Snoops. Newhart & Gabor have great chemistry (Voice-wise--is that possible?) as our rodent-heroes, and went on to work together again in the sequel.
