Review of The Rescuers (1977) by Robert H — 23 Jan 2013
One of the more overlooked Disney features The Rescuers is plagued with lack luster animation, a less than cheery story and some of the most forgettable Disney music ever. The best thing about the film isn't even the title characters, The Rescuers, but rather the rescuee.
If not for the adorable Penny, The Rescuers might have been completely forgotten even with the Disney name attached to it. Luckily, she's just a wonderful character full of light, hope and love in an otherwise dark and dismal movie.
