Review of The Reptile (1966) by Bill M — 08 Oct 2010
Another attempt by hammer to create a new monster, this is mostly a slow moving mystery with the occasional horror elements thrown in. Has many of the same performers from the superior PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES. I'm more fond of this movie than it probably deserves but there is a really interesting story here that does not get a full telling.
Best part of the movie is how our perceptions of the characters gets tossed on its head as the mystery unravels. Still, this is one that could actually benefit from a remake.
Not bad makeup design for the monster though the fried egg eyes look ridiculous (despite being logical for a snake creature.).
