Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Richard P — 04 Jan 2008
A multi-layered masterpiece that rewards with new insights upon each viewing. Themes of loyalty, honour, love and sacrifice are intelligently intertwined in a movie that stimulates both the heart and the mind.
Performances are absolutely first-rate but Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and Peter Vaughan really excel.
