Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Pooja P — 28 Mar 2008
I think the subtlelity of the book does not translate as well on to the screen. Perhaps I was just having expectations that were too high. Having said that, this movie plays out the restraint and pain of Stevens really well.
It is both painful and wonderful watching him remain composed, irregardless of his surroundings. Well, they don't call him Sir Anthony Hopkins for nothing, do they?
