Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Amethyst V — 08 May 2009

Very very excellent movie, but unfortunately, probably a little too sophisticated for me to fully appreciate it. I was thoroughly engrossed through the whole film. The characters were very well thought out and original.

The music was very weird though (didn't like it at all) but it didn't detract from the story too badly. The acting was very rich--as can be expected from the cast. The story itself and the themes of regret, missed opportunities, and even the subtlety behind war machinations held my attention.

I am very glad I saw it and would gladly see it again.
