Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Trevor H — 07 Mar 2012
This is one of those films in which it's impossible to imagine any actors other than Hopkins and Thompson being able to pull off this love story. Centred around the notion of loss and regret, it's a reminder that we always tend to regret most what we did not do in life, especially 'speak up' when our emotions tell us to.
It's a film that leaves me feeling bleak and empty though.
