Its really the Hopkins show as he is at some of his best here. The story though is sort of split in two. The first half a little more vague but honest look at a butler's devotion to house. The smaller yet more emotional aspect in the second half involving Thompson, is the heart of the movie and I wished it was the focus throughout.
