Review of The Remaining (2014) by Luann N — 06 Sep 2014
It has been a long time since a movie impressed me as much as The Remaining did! My husband and I drove quite far to see it last night but let me tell you it was worth every mile we drove! I really had no idea what to expect but by the end of it was sure it was the best movie I had seen in years.
From the beginning you are drawn in to a story with characters, dialogue, and action that are beautifully woven together. From the start you are introduced to a variety of characters who all have different priorities, hopes, dreams, and fears in each of their lives.
I love a story where you begin to care and empathize with each person in it quickly so that as the story unfolds it makes it all the more meaningful. This was masterfully done so that when the thundering day of reckoning strikes you are on the edge of your seat for the rest of the movie that feels like a roller coaster ride of emotions and action never knowing what is going to strike around the next turn.
The script was well thought through with touching moments in each of the characters lives as they come to make choices that not only affect them on earth but eternally. It takes a true talent to put together a movie that you can take the whole family to and achieve something as edgy, gripping and wonderfully over the top and keep it PG13.
I applaud this accomplishment ! I personally can't wait to tell all my friends and family about this film and hope it gets all the support and success it deserves. This film is epic in that it will leave its mark on your heart and leave you thinking about your priorities in life for days to come!
