The music, cinematography and casting (not necessarily the performances...) brought this up from being another soppy Hollywood melodrama. But even if it had been, it was a soppy Hollywood drama that needed to be told.
People like me watch shows like 'Homeland' and forget that there's another side to this whole thing; that 'the enemy' as they are so often referred to are people too.
