Review of The Relic (1997) by Jason H — 28 Feb 2010
A surprisingly effective monster movie that slipped under the radar in the late 90s. It relies on a few too many it's-just-a-cat moments but remains a tense, clever, and shameless B-movie. The Relic is helped by strong performances by Tom Sizemore and Penelope Ann Miller, both of whom give their stock characters a streak of credibility.
If you're going to create a paint-by-numbers horror film, this is the right way to do it.
