Based on the international bestseller about a cranium gnashing predator stalking the banquet halls and sewer system of Chicago's Museum of Natural History, The Relic as a film takes the story to its B Movie roots with cheesy bursts scream acting and ky monster snarls.
...well, eventually--first you have to trudge through a rather pedantic police procedural with Tom Sizemore's superstitious copper and his doomed cohorts. Still, it's fun for the most part and Stan Winston's creature design is pretty darn awesome once it crawls outta the shadows.
