Review of The Red Violin (1998) by Jonathan K — 08 Nov 2010
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the director was able to breathe some sort of personality or soul into the red violin by connecting it with a tarot card reading in the first act. this carried the film, which could have lacked heart and connection had he not accomplished the feat.
as it stands, it is an extremely unique film with an amazing score and some very good performances.
