Review of The Red Pill (2016) by Boom A — 09 Jun 2017
Gender issues are not particularly as big an issue in my country as it is in a lot of western countries; yet, I found The Red Pill particularly enlightening. How? It made me realize how vastly different and crucial each gender's role is in society.
I don't subscribe to the 'victimization' of each gender shown in this film; however, I do see how men and women can feel victimized. I don't agree that any of us are victims of how the other gender or society treats us. I strongly believe that we, not society, are the true masters of our own fate.
Having said that, I think this is a film worth watching. It not only shows us our roles in society, but also gives us lessons on communication itself. Cassie Jaye shows us a stellar example of just how much humility it actually takes to truly listen to an opinion that is opposed to your own.
I highly recommend this film to everyone; even those who do not experience these gender issues in their countries.
