(5 hour 2 part version) It's a rule of thumb that anytime a foreign director comes to America and then returns to his country to make a film, it is usually amazing. While this is not the Chinese Gone With the Wind, it is a an epic kung fu history film that is entertaining and visually stunning from start to finish.

I love how all John Woo's techniques have stayed in tact through the years, with the guns being replaced by swords. Also, avoid the American cut version. I will never see it but I can't imagine cutting a second.
