Review of The Recruit (2003) by Wataru S — 02 Dec 2013
Colin Farrell is a computer genius who is recruited by the CIA to be an agent like his father. During the process, they tell them everything is a test and expect the unexpected. During one of his missions, he is to lose his tail, but ends up getting captured who pose as the enemy who want to know more about the CIA.
He eventually breaks, then learns it was a test. He gets cut from the recruits, but is brought back and told one of the other recruits is actually a spy for another country. So he is spies on her to get to the truth.
An interesting idea, but it gets too tiring when you can just say 'Its a test!' every 5 minutes and be right, that it really loses any surprise. It just gets tiring after about an hour. Should have been written better.
