Review of The Reaping (2007) by Esperanza N — 14 Sep 2008
There is something about horror themed movies dealing with God and the Bible that gets me every time. Both The Exorcist and Constantine also hit that spot. The Reaping could have been an extended X-Files episode (I've seen the 1 hr version).
They throw in a plot twist and some cool effects for the plagues. I didn't mind this movie, but I am REALLY happy that I did not buy it (almost did once). I was starting to cheer when the fireballs came.
At that point, the one thing that comes to mind is that some ummm, beings (namely God), you just don't want to make them angry. There was one part that I thought was a dream, but was apparently a reality.
..that did more than set up for a sequel. (Come on Damien, show us your stuff).
