Review of The Real Jurassic Park (1993) by Stephen J — 29 Oct 2015
I feel like I am supposed to love Jurassic Park, but I was fairly disappointed. I am 22 years late and I know that the special effects were monumental at the time of its release. Indeed they were, because Jurassic Park took home three 1994 Academy Awards for Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound.
The problem is that the dinosaurs are the best part of the movie; the screenplay flops, the character development is absent, the plot is weak, and the novel leaves the film in the dust. I felt like I waited in a long line for the "best roller-coaster ever," finally got on the ride, did a couple turns, and got off thinking, "That was it?".
