The frat-school cousin of Rules of Attraction. I mean, you don't go into a movie like this expecting great cinema, and I have a feeling in 30 years or so, when these kids are living in the suburbs with grown children of their own, the public will look back on this movie the way we look back on movies about early '70s youth culture: hilariously dated and completely moronic, and for some of us, fun to watch for just that reason. Of course there are the requisite "types" here: at least two or three musclebound dudebros, an array of vapid bleached-blonde chicks I often confused with each other (one of whom got stung by a jellyfish so one of the dudebros pissed into a cup and poured it on her wound), a male model bimbo who blatantly asked girls if they wanted to make out, a "loser" virgin in love with his female best friend (and whose "STD song" was a highlight of the movie), another "loser" with a bad haircut who starts off avoiding booze and ends up doing body shots off of random girls and claims he just wants a loving relationship but also constantly clamors to see "boobies." Featuring that god-awful "Fever for the Flavor" song by Hot Action Crap at the end, and one sequence that spliced together three different scenes of couples/coupling in what I thought was a really odd editing choice. You get what you pay for, which in this case was nothing since I got it free in a "buy two, get one free" sale.

Fun fact, one of the reasons it was rated R was for "partying." Yes, it really says that. Also Werner Herzog apparently liked this film for its lack of pretentiousness.
