Review of The Reader (2008) by Zina C — 25 Aug 2010
Not sure what to make of this, the first half of the film I thought was pretty poor and I was severely losing interest. Then we come to the turning point at the court case and I really thought the second half was excellent (!SPOILERS!) despite the obligatory suicide half way through.
Fiennes and Winslet's relationship is infinitely more interesting than the initial developing of it and I found the posted recordings in particular quite moving. Certainly worth watching.
