Review of The Reader (2008) by Aaron J — 17 Jan 2012
I tried to read the book a few years ago but gave up on it after a few pages because I found the translation badly written and repetitive. But I found the film immensely enjoyable and it's got me thinking that maybe I should try reading it again as the plot becomes more complex as it progresses.
I think I got bored of just reading about a couple's romance, but when Hanna's trial gets underway, it becomes a lot more interesting.
