Review of The Reader (2008) by Ollie W — 21 Jan 2012
Touching and well-paced, the closing scenes between Fiennes and Winslet are absolutely superb, two great actors at the top of their game, faces etched with repressed emotions and regrets.
Daldry's direction is at times contrastingly superb and annoyingly formulaic, overall though, this is an impressive adaptation of a complex and memorable tale.
