Review of The Reader (2008) by Jasen L — 03 Sep 2012
This is two stories in one. First it's a sexy love story about an older woman and a younger man and all that you would expect from such an affair... flash forward 20 odd years and it's a nazi war crimes trial story.
I was moved (all over) by this really brilliantly acted story. The Reader asks some difficult questions about love, sex and war, it also exposes the exploitation of the poor and uneducated by the nazis which is also quite relevant with some wars and military today.
This is a really moving story and a beautiful movie. Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes are exceptional.
